SuperTech Lead scoops award for Legal Tech Team of the Year

SuperTech’s very own LawTech Lead, Tony Randle, picked up the Legal Business 2021 award for Legal Technology Team of the Year, last week on behalf of Shoosmiths.

From a shortlist including large London and international firms, Shoosmiths rose above the competition to collect the prize from William Hague, once again showing that the West Midlands is leading the way in ProfTech firms and services.

Feedback from independent judges said the firm had won because of successfully “combining a number of tools into its New How initiative”.

Shoosmiths’ award submission told of responding quickly to the pandemic by adopting new ways of working and capturing the willingness of its clients to do things differently.

With some 300 staff based in Colmore Square in Birmingham, the Shoosmiths team has been prolific in developing Legal Tech solutions, including matter tracking and analytics for in-house lawyers and AI-powered contract review software that can save huge amounts of time for its clients.

Tony Randle, Shoosmiths Partner and Head of Shoosmiths8 Connected Services business, said:

“It is fantastic to get this recognition for all that the Shoosmiths team has achieved, and is also great to add to the ever-growing profile of the ProfTech sector in the West Midlands.”

Hilary Smyth- Allen, SuperTech Executive Lead, said:

“Congratulations to Shoosmiths! This award follows closely after the news that Birmingham-based LegalTech business, Lexyfi, has succeeded in being accepted onto the pioneering national LawTech programme. This all goes to show that amazing things are happening in LawTech here in the West Midlands - we are leading the way!”
