PROGRAMME SUCCESS
The SuperTech Seeds Accelerator Programme, delivered in partnership with Greater Things, is now in its third year and has supported over 50 businesses with business mentorship, investment and the development of their MVP (minimum Viable Product) at the fragile, early stage of their business.
Its successful inclusive, Founder-first approach is confirmed with 45% female-founder programme participants and 50% founders from ethnic minority communities.
75% of programme participants are still active and it is estimated that for angel/pre-seed investors in the region to have achieved the same outcome, £6 million of investment would have been required (£250k was invested in the SuperTech Seed accelerator programme).
FOUNDER-FIRST APPROACH
This isn’t a conveyor belt incubation approach - there are no highly scheduled attendance at sessions required over a set period of time.
Depending on the state of idea readiness, our approach is to work with the founder to rapid-spec the MVP to create a true market test of the business idea and enable a meaningful business launch.
For some this means generating revenue; for others it can mean onboarding potential customers as a demonstration to investors.

PROGRAMME BENEFITS
WE BUILD YOUR MVP - AT PACE
Each successful applicant will receive £10k worth of seed investment towards their idea, delivered by SuperTech and expert partners, Greater Things. You will work with an expert no-code developer throughout the process to take your idea from concept on a PowerPoint through to a Minimum Viable Product capable of engaging customers. And in a fraction of the time it would normally take.
IT’S A TOTALLY UNIQUE OFFERING IN THE UK
We are focused on helping founders with the technology part of their business idea. We are focused on filling the void which is founders unable to progress because they are struggling to finance the first stage tech-build. A typical programme provides up to TEN MVP builds to fund, equivalent to circa £1 million worth of free, new product development.
YOU OWN YOUR OWN IDEA - BEFORE AND AFTER
No intellectual property rights are surrendered during the programme. The MVP is handed over at the end and is your company’s to exploit.
PARTICIPANT FEEDBACK
Successful applicants will have access to a brand new innovation space in central Birmingham, that has been specifically designed for digital and tech businesses to form, scale and grow.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Applications are welcomed from entrepreneurs within the West Midlands Combined Authority Area - meaning a postcode in this geography - with priority for applicants from Birmingham, Dudley and Walsall.

Non-WM applicants based within the UK are welcome, but are subject to the availability of alternative funding streams - these cannot be guaranteed, but they do happen, so please do still apply.

Complete the initial expression of interest form. We will then review the information for eligibility and if suitable, we will ask you for a short video to explain more about your MVP build that you would like through participation in the pre-accelerator.

PROJECT FUNDING
SuperTech Seeds is a beneficiary pilot project within the West Midlands Innovation Programme 2.0, which is a funded project within the West Midlands’ Innovation Accelerator.
Led by Innovate UK on behalf of UK Research and Innovation, the pilot Innovation Accelerators programme invested £100m in 26 transformative R&D projects to accelerate the growth of three high-potential innovation clusters – Glasgow City Region, Greater Manchester and West Midlands.
This is a new model of R&D decision making that empowers local leaders to harness innovation to drive regional economic growth, help attract private investment, and develop future technologies.
